Overview - Anhydrous Applicators

Production of coil shank and straight shank anhydrous applicators began in 1977.  Coil shank applicators featured a 20” fluted coulter ahead of a 1 1/4” coil shank, gauge wheels and a nurse tank hitch.  Both tall and short coil shanks were available.  Production of the coil shank applicators ended in 1993.  The straight shank applicator utilized a 20" fluted coulter ahead of a straight shank assembly.  Early models used one clamp for the coulter and a second clamp for the straight shank.  A new combination clamp was introduced in 1989 to attach both parts to the toolbar with one clamp.  Both machines were available with a variety of knives, and regulator packages and shutoffs until 1997.  A USS Cold-Floä mini-converter package was available from 1980 to 1986.  Chemical and fertilizer filters were sold from 1978 to 1986.  For large rigid toolbar machines, an optional end transport was available to pull the machine length-wise from 1982 to 1990.  Various models of nurse tank hitches were used on the applicators.  Parts breakdowns of these nurse tank hitches can be found in Section H of the Miscellaneous product category.

An Operators Manual is available for this implement under the following part numbers: Coil shank applicator = OM01/85/23, Straight shank applicator = OM01/85/22
